Many organizations within first responder, public service and amateur radio all maintain specific frequencies and naming for use at certain times like events and special situations.

Ulster & Northern Dutchess Readiness Group maintains a short list of common frequencies we use for our operations. A description for each is below for further clarity.

This year, the Ulster & Northern Dutchess Readiness Group continues its history in creating a complete off-grid experience for ARRL Field Day.

After many successful public radio direction finding (RDF) focused events over the past few years, for 2024 the Ulster & Northern Dutchess Readiness Group is expanding our plans thank you to a seasoned team of volunteers which makes activities like this possible.

In November 2023, we combined car based and on foot based hidden transmitter hunting across three official search areas in Dutchess and Ulster counties.  Those who participated in this unique event enjoyed the extra challenges, so for our Saturday May 25th 2024 event, there will be some additional fun activities involved to appeal to both existing amateur radio operators as well as anyone else interested in some fun detective work.

Radio Scavenger Hunt

Not to be confused with some of the great activities which Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) of Dutchess County or Overlook Mountain Amateur Radio Club has scheduled this year,  this part of the UNDR Group sponsored May 25th event will allow members of the public to use a common family radio service (FRS) radio tuned to channel 7 (462.7125 MHz) to help find the hiding location of important clues which can be used to find a hidden transmitter.
