UNDR Group wants the public to know about upcoming events so that the local media can hopefully be aware of our mission and goals. Below are recent articles involving UNDR Group and other active focused partner organizations
A few members of the Ulster & Northern Dutchess Readiness Group participated in ARRL Field Day during the fourth weekend of June at Taconic-Hereford Multiple Use Area. We were not able to get members of the local media to join us that weekend, but they were excited to learn more the week after and we coordinated a visit with Kara Burnett of Spectrum News. This location in Pleasant Valley was chosen not only because it is part of the "Parks On The Air" program, but because it is a great off grid location for practicing emergency communications and primitive camping skills. Many people frequent the park year round, including casual nature enthusiasts, hunters and those with capable bicycles known as "fat bikes". Together, different groups are trying to help promote how valuable this location is via the website called "Save the 909" and are working closely with DEC rangers to ensure everything remains safe for everyone.
