CANCELLED - Hudson Valley Amateur Radio Adventure Day 2025
- THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
- New for 2025, is the Amateur Radio Adventure Day. This event focuses on public awareness of amateur radio that is family focused and as non technical as possible.
- Major highlights will include a hidden transmitter hunt/scavenger hunt and small demonstrations of how to use different radios in portable settings.
- Event will be at Wilcox Memorial Park in Stanfordville, NY at the pavilion adjacent from the park office immediately next to the parking lot.

1st Annual New York Area Parks On The Air Appreciation Brunch
- All POTA enthusiasts are welcome to attend. Pending weather, feel free to activate the park before or after brunch. Sunday January 19th 2025.
- Location is JB's Bar & Grill on the grounds of James Baird State Park (US-2084)
- Suggested meeting time at the restaurant is 12:00 PM.
- Please contact organizers if you plan to attend so we can advise the restaurant in advance for expected headcount. We should be able to secure the heated patio room as a group though.
- Order food off the menu only. There is no group buffet or fixed price. You pay for what you want.
- No outside food/drink permitted in the restaurant.

Hackers On Planet Earth (HOPE XV) St. Johns University Queens, NY
- A variety of presentations that may be of interest to those looking for more beyond just amateur radio will be covered.
- Participation may require volunteers to staff the RF Village who have high level knowledge and hands on experience with certain topics such as digital modes (voice & non-voice) and IoT type of projects.

- Get out and go do some POTA within the Hudson Valley
- No formal plans for the Saturday before Washington's birthday other than some POTA activity will be happening and UNDR Group will be involved at one or more official POTA locations.
- Encouraging those to play radio versus just socialize which sometimes prevents people making the most of POTA time.
- Would like to formalize this on this date annually and someone to lead it other than Steve K2GOG.

- Operating as K2OMD/N2HVD at POTA K-5623 from 1000-1400 local time Saturday January 27th 2024.
- Operating as N2HVD as 4-Oscar from 1400-1600 local time for official Winter Field Day on Saturday January 27th 2024.
- There will be no UNDR or OMARC sponsored activity at this location on Sunday January 28th 2024.
- Location will be to the far side of parking lot near new Minnewaska Visitor Center.
- Look at APRS.fi for N2HVD-2 for exact location if not familiar with the park.
- Goal to demonstrate cold weather off grid communications. Past event example details here.

POSTPONED - August 19th 2023 - UNDR Group Road Trip to "The End" plus Hither Hills (K-2076)
- #1 Goal - The "LEAST" activated POTA site known as K-2076 in grid FN31 and make as many contacts as possible.
- #2 Goal - RaDAR operations from five parks to the east. (K-2108, K-2140, K-2005, K-2025, K-2109)

COMPLETED - August 12th 2023 - Local POTA for Beginners @ James Baird Park (K-2084)
- Basic introduction to Parks On The Air - A fun portable amateur radio event at James Baird Park
- Parking in lot near bandshell and Turtle Walk playground. Will be easy to find due to orange antenna masts across from pickleball area.
- All members of public encouraged to visit. You need NOT be a licensed amateur radio operator.
- Any licensed amateur radio operator is welcome to visit and bring your own QRP equipment only.
ABANDONED - July 16th 2023 - Sussex County Hamfest - UNDR Swap Table
- UNDR Group will have a 10x10 pop up canopy with plenty of extra table space to drop off items for sale.
- Feel free to stop by and enjoy the shade and some "dehydration repellent"
- Battery and antenna for testing "newly acquired" HF gear will be available. Our large flagpole will be easy to spot!

COMPLETED - June 24th & 25th 2023 - Low Power & Off Grid ARRL Field Day
- UNDR Group will use the N2HVD callsign during ARRL Field Day 2023 operating as 3AB.
- Our #1 goal is to ONLY use a maximum of 5 watts using battery powered equipment on the 80m plus 40m/20m/15m/10m bands using any and all modes.
- Our #2 goal is to generate as many BONUS points as possible, including satellite contacts.
- Participants are encouraged to abide by "leave no trace" and "low carbon footprint" for the duration of the event.
- Official location will be Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area (K-5328) for the entire 24 hour duration of the event.
- Operating space is limited. Please contact Steve Bossert K2GOG if interested in attending for more than 2 hours. Visitors are welcome at anytime for up to 2 hours.
